2 day or 5 day Course
In our opinion the Daddy of advanced
courses!
If you are really serious about improving
your riding, this is the one for you!
Instructor: Martin Smithson
Martin began his riding career aged just 11 and qualified as a Driving
Standards Agency CBT and DAS instructor in 1999.
He then completed a gruelling 10-day Police Advanced Course, completing the
now unavailable Pursuit Advanced Course a few months later.
A further week-long advanced course in Derbyshire saw him obtain his First
Class Advanced Test and the coveted RoSPA Gold Test Pass (the highest
civilian qualification you can get).
He has been teaching advanced courses himself since 2000.
Every three years he has to retake his RoSPA test - he has never failed to
achieve Gold.
He has taught literally 100's of people in the last 9
years, some taking the RoSPA test and some not, but everyone getting
something positive out of it.
Martin is friendly, likeable and approachable with a wealth of knowledge and
a great instructing manner.

Enhanced Rider
Scheme
This is a Driving Standards
Agency (DSA) scheme
designed to assess your riding, reduce risk and improve your skills.
The scheme is beneficial to
all bike riders who have a full motorcycle licence, no matter what size of
bike, or the experience level of the rider. There is no test involved, and
you may not need to take any training if your skills are assessed as
satisfactory. You will also earn discounts on your insurance as a result!
Step 1 - The
Assessment
£30 for around 45 mins
We assess your riding for a
modest price and if you have no significant areas of weakness we provide you
with a DSA Certificate of Competence - Enhanced Rider Bonus. You can
then get an insurance discount from one of the many insurers who have signed
up to support the scheme.
Step 2 -
Further Training
£40 per hour
If you do have areas that
would benefit from further training, you would qualify for the certificate
after completing the recommended training. By assessing your riding we can
tailor a development programme to suit your needs.
Step 3 - Insurance
Discounts
£substantial
Many of the leading motorcycle
insurance companies have signed up to this scheme and are prepared to offer
substantial discounts to riders who have shown they can ride to the ERS
standard and have received a certificate.
The insurance brokers and
direct insurers currently sponsoring the scheme are:
AA Insurance,
Bennett's Insurance, Bikesure, Carole
Nash, Chandler Direct, CIA Insurance, Devitt, Direct Choice Insurance, E
Bike, Hastings Direct, MCE Insurance, Motorcycle Direct, Norwich Union
Direct, Express Insurance, Rampdale, Premium Choice, Lexham and Swinton
Insurance.
And additionally supported by: AXA, Chaucer Insurance, Equity
Red Star, Groupama, Highway, KGM, Link, Zenith, NIG, Norwich Union and Royal
& Sun Alliance
This list continues to grow...
We conduct
all our on-road training using bike to bike radios.
Your instructor
will be a DSA Approved Instructor and on the
Register of Post Test Motorcycle Trainers (RPMT).
We also offer our standard
refresher training instead of the Enhanced Rider Scheme if you would
prefer it....

'I really enjoyed the refresher course with you a few weeks back and
as planned I have been out shopping and purchased a GSX1400. It's great to
be back on a bike again after 20 years.'

'Andy,
Thank you for a very good afternoon yesterday. I was feeling rather nervous
when I arrived, not knowing what to expect and fearing an intimidating
set-up. However you managed to allay my anxieties, and I soon started to
enjoy myself, thanks partly to the weather, but mainly thanks to your
attitude, humour, and positive comments. I found the feedback on my riding
hugely useful and even check the vanishing point when driving the car now.
(It hasn't helped my golf though.)
My journey home was pure enjoyment.'
